[ches didn't need to twist her arm in order for them to meet again; in fact, wanda sends him a message one day asking him to meet her at her horizon domain, and she waits. it is a cabin amidst a range of mountains, overlooking a lake. the place could compare to ches's idea of the ideal place to escape to, with how open and uninterrupted by structures it is.

the forest to the side peaks with activity, the nosy crows she keeps there as a form of alarm cawing, alerting her of someone else's presence. wanda remains seated, though, at the steps of her cabin.

waits for her guest to reach her.]

It's home.

[she replies in greeting, standing up now as he gets closer. a hand against one of the posts on the porch, she glances outward at the mountains that flank the backdrop of her domain. yes, this is the sight of sokovia as she remembers it best; mountains that were a constant in her life despite being in the city.]

This is part of Sokovia, though some people will say it's not called that anymore.

[as he gets closer, she raises an eyebrow.]

I thought I was going to have a wolf coming to my doorstep.

[she's joking—but it's an easy way to show him that there's no tension here, just friendly banter.]

[wanda scrunches her nose at that, trying to push down the delighted little smile on her features. for some stranger to just openly accept sokovia—it's refreshing, really. everyone else from her world tries to pretend it doesn't exist, or at least it feels that way.

probably for her own sake, and yet—]

I was raised with scary stories like Baba Yaga and the Zimniy Soldat. I promise you that a wolf would not frighten me.

[especially when she knows—and when she can sense that it would be a friend. it's easy enough to allow her magic to catch on to threads of thoughts and emotions of others in a superficial level.

tentatively, she motions towards the door.]

It is my turn to play host. I have tea and paprikash.

[wanda gives him a bit of a look before— oh, coming to understand something.]

It could very well be that our story about the Zimniy Soldat, the Winter Soldier, as it is translated to, is not part of your world.

[there are those instances of worlds that are incredibly different from one another, and then there are those with so many intrinsic similarities, except for a couple of things that don't add up. wanda figures that this is the case with chester's world in comparison to her own.

in she goes, into the cabin, a small modest place. it is cozy in any case, and wanda urges chester to seat at the table while she moves adjacently to the kitchen; there are no doors here, so all rooms are connected.]

The tale of Zimniy Soldat is that of a soldier created in a lab. He is as quiet as the night, moves using the shadows, and he will kill with no hesitation. He takes no hostages and no witnesses, [she ladles the paprikash into a bowl for him and herself, bringing it over to set on the table.] and should you see him, you will be marked to be his next prey.

—or that's what they said, anyway. [hmm...] Oh, spoons.

[as if remembering—she taps the air with a finger, and sparkles of scarlet have a spoon appear on the table by him, and one for herself on the other side.]

I have water too, if you rather leave the tea for after.
